These suggestions will assist with maintaining your groups pace of play.
1.
If you cannot see the group in front of you, chances are your group is falling behind.
2.
In the interest of time, with the exception of Par-3s, Our format allows the option to play the Best Tee Shot of your group. After
selecting the better tee shot, played the ball within 6 inches of the selected shot without improving from hazards or obstructions
3.
Accept responsibility: Recognize slow play could be your fault and take corrective action
4.
Do your housekeeping on your own time:
a.
Start the round with tees, markers, balls and a ball-mark repair tool already in your pocket.
b.
Replace head-covers while you walk or after you have cleared the area.
c.
Clear the green ASAP, and write down scores on the next tee.
d.
Get off the phone
5.
Limit your stop at the turn: If you are going to need a long stop, you and your cart partner should putt-out and drive ahead.
6.
Play ready golf: If your pre-shot routine actually takes more than 20 seconds to complete you may be responsible for your
group losing pace.
a.
Start your pre-shot routine and club selection early, so you are ready to hit when it is your turn. There is no gallery waiting to
watch your routine.
b.
Fore Go Honors off the tee: Let the shorter hitters play first
7.
Be Cart Smart: Remember you share your cart, so DO NOT sit the cart and watch your partner play his shot - “You are not their
caddy or coach!” Drop off your cart partner off to play their shot or leave the cart with them and when safe begin advancing
towards your ball with club in hand.
8.
Take an a extra club or two with you so you do not have to return to your cart.
9.
Pick-up: We’ve all been there. When struggling, pick up and record a double par
10.
Be quicker on the greens:
a.
Plan your exit by parking the carts beyond the green in the direction you will be exiting the green towards the next hole (Not
in front of the green)
b.
Read it, Hit it. Tap it in.
c.
Practice continuous putting. Do not mark that short putt! Finish out those short-missed putts rather than marking them.
d.
Stop marking your ball when it is not in anyone’s line.
e.
Exit the green quickly, remember there are others waiting
f.
Return to your cart in a timely manner, and drive to the next tee.
g.
Clean your clubs and add those head covers after clearing the area preably the next tee box
h.
Stop recording scores at the green. Again, clear the area and record scores at the next tee box
